Weekly Disney Roundup: January 29,2012

Mulan and Mushu were out at Disneyland this week to celebrate the Lunar New Year! Mulan's pretty rare to catch, but it's especially cool to see Mushu out and about! Photo from Loren Javier on Flickr.

I mentioned Kevin Kidney's post about the beautiful tree mural that was lost, and he made a follow-up post this week with some new pictures and info. You can read that here.

Have I posted this Mrs.Nesbit cosplay before? No? Well then. Here it is. Best thing ever.

Williams-Sonoma has new Snow White bakeware out! Cute cookie cutters, spatula, cake pan, cupcake decorations, and kid's apron!

Weekly Disney Roundup: January 22,2012

A new restaurant opened this week at the Japan pavilion of Epcot! Mostly this is just an excuse to post that adorable picture of Minnie in a kimono. So cute. But if you're really interested, there's more info on that here.

Tumblr has decided the best thing to do with Disney gifs is to photoshop Nigel Thornberry's face on them. No idea why, but I'm certainly not going to argue that this isn't funny.

Well this is the best pincushion ever! There's more pictures and a great tutorial for it over here.

President Obama visited Disney World this week to talk about international tourism! If you couldn't squeeze into the crowd on main street you could also watch it live in the most apt of locations, The Hall of Presidents.

Oh and Joel requested that I include R-Truth's terribly photoshopped trip to Disneyland from WWE Raw last week haha. If you want to see more ridiculously shopped images of him hanging out with Disney characters, the video is here.

This week's Disney Classic is Sleeping Beauty the final Fairy Tale from Disney until The Little Mermaid years later. And what a fairy tale. Striking visuals, great backgrounds, and an amazing villain make this one a memorable one.

Weekly Disney Roundup: January 7, 2012

And we're back! I hope everyone had a happy and safe holiday season. Here's your roundup for the past few weeks:

The live action Maleficent movie finally has a director! It's Robert Stromberg, who did the production design on Avatar. This is apparently his first time directing, so we'll see how that goes. More info here.

Here's a sneak preview clip for Tangled Ever After! I love the way Rapunzel's long veil mimics her previously giant hair. If you want to see the full short it will be playing in front of the re-release of Beauty and the Beast, which is in theaters January 13.

So there's good news and bad news as far as Disney's long in the works Snow Queen movie. The good news is that it's still happening! The bad news is that they've renamed it Frozen, continuing the ridiculous trend of avoiding feminine words in titles for no good reason. And it seems that the movie will also be done in 3D animation rather than the originally planned 2D. More info about it here.

Disney also recently announced their One More Disney Day campaign. All of the Disney parks are going to be open 24 hours on February 29 in honor of leap day! I think it'll probably be packed and really tiring, but probably worth it to be in the parks for literally an entire day. The website is here!
